The Simplest way

Ram Ram Hare Krishna
Radhe Radhe

Hope all is well.   Continuing from the "Magic Spell" lecture given by HH Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji on New Years day 2010.  It was so powerful that it is still being televised on Indian TV.
=============================
Mahamantra is the telephone number to reach God. That is his mobile phone number. It is very close to his heart. Whenever we chant it, he will hear it. He will listen to us. He will bless us.

Let us say we are faced with a problem. Whenever you are in trouble, don't look for another person to help you out. All you have to do is focus the mind and start chanting the mahamantra. Wherever you are, whatever the situation is, whenever you need help, chant the mahamantra. The more and more you chant, God will come to your rescue. You will be saved from that situation in a miraculous manner. The place, the situation does notmatter. Whenever you are in trouble or your family member is in trouble, don't think if you can visit this temple or that temple or visit an astrologer or what gem should you wear or if a name change is required as per numerology searching for a remedy, Why don't you do a prayer? Why do you depend on remedies? You know very well that god is full of mercy and compassion. He is ready to bless you. Call bhagavaan from wherever you are. Why don't you think of that first? Cry out his name aloud. Chant the mahamantra. God will definitely bless you. It will definitely happen. When you are in need, chant the naama. Chant the mahamantra. The mahamantra is the magic spell. The world will not understand it. But you will. You will understand how God rescued us from the troubled situation. Don't lose faith. We carry out our tasks everyday building dreams for the future with the faith that we will live tomorrow. There is no life without faith. So with faith, chant naama. We are blessed with a tongue. So chant naama. Do not fear.
Bhagavaan says in the gita that out of the 84,00,000 living things, it is only human beings who are blessed with the power of speech. No other living thing can talk. Why are you blessed with  the power of speech? God wants to listen to his glory through your mouth. He wants to help you. So he has granted you the power of speech. We use our mouth to talk endlessly about worldly things and eat all kinds of stuff.  Bhagavatam says that in front of a wedding hall there is a dumpster where they dump dirty plates, leftover food, sweets and beverages. Will that dumpster ever chant bhagavaan naama. Similarily, we use our mouth to talk worldly things, eat all sorts of things . If we forget to chant naama, chant mahamantra, then there is no difference between your mouth and the dumpster. We keep eating all the time. There was a bhakta called Nandanar. When people approached him and said,"Nanda, if you just chant naama, is it going to feed us?" Nandan replied, "Even a dog eats, will it chant naama" Thre is not an easier path than naama sankirtan.You can give excuses if you do not wish to do it. If asked to do dhyana, meditation, you feel that it is too hard. But when asked to chant naama you tell that it is very easy. On the whole, you do not want to do it. So you give excuses. There cannot be a simplest path than this. Doctors sometimes give up on certain patients and tell that it upto God to save them. Similarly, one who does not chant the naama is the most unfortunate one who has been givenup by god himself. No one can save such a soul.
If you want to meditate, you need a place. You need to be seated there for at least 10 minutes. To chant naama, you do not need a place or time. You can chant while walking. You can chant the naama while cooking or travelling. The mouth can keep chanting while the hand carries out its duties. If you do pranayanam or yoga without the help of a guru, it may yield unfavorable results. Will something like that ever happen while chanting naama. Never. There is no way you can make a mistake chanting naama. I am not saying this. All mahans have shown this path. Thyagarajar, Purandaradasar, Meera bai, Naamadev, Tukkaram, Jnaneshwar, Chaitanya, Ramakrishnar, Vivekananda have shown this path. How could Vivekananda achieve so much in his short life span? He came to Ramakrishna very late.He had completed his college education. Today there are innumerable swamijis who travel abroad to spread our sanatana dharma. The pioneer in that effort is Swami Vivekananda. How was he able to achieve it? Rmakrishna gave him the upadesa of Rama naama. Now you understand the power of rama naama. Why did Ramakrishna give upadesa of Rama naama? He knew what was required to go to a foreign land to do pracharam. Is Swami Vivekananda the first one to go to a foreign country? No. It was Hanuman. How did Hanuman go? He said, Jai Sri Ram and jumped. He landed in Lanka. Look at the plight of Rama. He built a bridge with stones to go to Lanka. Rama needed a bridge to cross the ocean while all hanuman needed was the rama naama . Bhagavaan naama is more potent than bhagavaan himself. To tell you the truth, even god does not know the strength of his naama. Even Rama or Krishna did not know the power of their naama. Naama will change your lives. Your end might come anywhere, in your house, while travelling , in an ambulance , etc. At that point, even if your near and dear relatives are not with you, Krishna will be standing by your side since you chanted the his naama. He will take care of you. He will hold your hand and lead you.

Miracles of Bhagavan Nama

Ram Ram Hare Krishna
Radhe Radhe

Hope all is well.   Would like to share some recent testimonials (just last week) given by everyday people on Mahamantra and the grace of Mahatmas, in this case our beloved Swamiji HH Sri Sri Muralidhar Swamiji.
Please spare a few minutes of time to read when permits.  :)

================
Ambur is a beautiful town on the Chennai-Bangalore highway. This town occupies a special place in our Sri Swamiji's heart because numerous residents of this town are in love with the Mahamantra, and have a special regard and love for our Guru Maharaj.

Recently, there was a plan to organize a prayer session in this town. Unlike a mass prayer event, a one-on-one prayer event was organized here, on the 28th of March this year.
As a part of the prayer session, many devotees came forward to share their experiences of how the divine grace and power of the Mahamantra have played unbelievable miracles in their lives.
Each and every experience that was narrated came right from the hearts of the devotees and in turn touched the hearts of all the devotees present.

Here are a few of them....

A lady who spoke had her son living abroad. He had gone abroad for his job more than 12 years ago, leaving behind his mother in this town. During the first few months of his travel, he regularly spoke to his mother over phone and wrote letters to her. After a year or two, that stopped. There was absolutely no communication from her son. Being a mother, she could not remain peaceful without knowing about the well-being of her son. But, unfortunately she knew neither the phone number nor the address of her son. So for her there was simply no means of reaching out to him. When our Sri Swamiji visited Ambur, she cried out to Him stating her helpless condition. Pregnant with the love and compassion of a million mothers, which is indeed the nature of Guru Maharaj, He patiently listened to her and said, 'Don't worry. He will call you.' In a very few days, the lady got a call from her long lost son and now the mother and son are regularly in touch. The lady's face reflected the unbounded happiness that divine grace has ushered into her life as she narrated the touching incident.

Our Sri Swamiji says that the greatest roadblock in our endeavours is lack of faith. It is this lack of faith that blocks divine grace from descending on an individual. Indeed, faith in the words of a Guru can do wonders. A gentleman narrated his experience that substantiated this. Having been married for about twelve years, this couple did not have progeny. They had resorted to all possible medical treatments but with little success. When once, Sri Swamiji came to Ambur, they poured out their heart to Sri Swamiji. Sri Swamiji asked them to offer a 'thulabharam' (offering of fruits, ghee etc. equivalent to one's own weight) to Lord Sri Guruvayurappan. With faith, the couple carried out the 'Thulabharam' as per Sri Swamiji's bidding and very soon, the lady conceived their child. It was an emotional moment, as the proud father showed the little one - the fruit of their faith and divine grace, whom they have named Janani, to the entire audience - a standing example of how divine grace can make the impossible possible.
We say, 'Nama Sankirtan can bring in inner transformation'. Is it just a façade? Or is it really true? The answer is right here...
Nama Sankirtan satsangs are regularly held in this town and people from all age groups - infants to seniors - attend it. There was a school-going young boy who attended the satsangs regularly and truly fallen in love with the Mahamantra. As he chanted the Mahamantra, he started feeling that he should not take non-vegetarian food any more. Everyone in his family was non-vegetarian, and as is the case in every other non-vegetarian household, it was a practice for them to cook meat on Sundays. This young Bhagavata would refuse to take meat. This would often bring in an argument at the lunch table in his family, as his mother would force him to take it. One such Sunday, when the boy strongly refused, the argument between the mother and son heated up and eventually the latter declared, 'If Mahamantra were true, it will, one day, make you a vegetarian too!'

In a few days, this young lad who went to school did not return. His parents frantically searched for him. They did not leave any stone unturned to find the boy, but in vain. The mother now started attending the Nama Sankirtan satsangs regularly. The very Mahamantra that she chanted in the satsang increased her faith and conviction in Nama. During one such satsang, she prayed, in her heart of hearts, sincerely to the Almighty for her son's return. After having established this beautiful relationship with the Lord through the medium of prayers, she had a strange feeling in her heart - something told her that if she stopped taking non-vegetarian food, her son would return. As this thought came to her quite often, she undertook a promise - that she would abstain from taking non-vegetarian diet once and for all, if she got back her lost son.

'The very next day was the most unforgettable day in my life' - the mother said as she was narrating the story to the assembled devotees, with drops of tears rolling out of her eyes... 'My son got back home, all by himself and he was standing at the doorstep smiling at me.'

Listening to and reading these wonderful experiences, it is only gratitude to the Sadguru and the Almighty that wells up in our heart -- for having given us this rarest of the rare gem - the Mahamantra. All we can do is strengthen our prayers for giving us more and more taste in this nectarine Mahamantra and chant it more and more.... Is it not?

The King and His 4 Wives

Ram Ram Hare Krishna
Radhe Radhe

Hope all is well.   Hereby sharing a nice story to give us Perspective and Relevance in life.We may be very good in technology and material advancement but we shastras say that we have lost relevance of life.
Now we have fast cars but have no time
We have the most Luxiorious bed  but we can't sleep.
We have lots of money but no peace.
Who are we? Where are we going in life? IF the answer is there then we are very sharp. It does not matter if we are a cobbler, sweeper, cleaner, teacher, or a doctor whoever we are.  If we know what we are doing in life then we are intelligent.

===========================
The King and His Four Wives

Once upon a time there was a rich King who had four wives. He loved the 4th wife the most and endowed her with rich robes and
treated her to the finest of delicacies. He gave her nothing but the best.

He also loved the 3rd wife very much and was always showing her off to neighboring kingdoms.  However, he feared that one day she would leave Him for another.

He also loved his 2nd wife. She was his confidant and was always kind,  considerate and patient with him. Whenever the King faced a problem, he could confide in her, and she would help him get through the difficult times.

The King's 1st wife was a very loyal partner and had made great contributions in maintaining his wealth and kingdom. However, he did not love the first wife. Although she loved him deeply, he hardly took notice of her!

One day, the King fell ill and he knew his time was short. He thought of His luxurious life and wondered, I now have four wives with me, but when I die, I'll be all alone."

Thus, he asked the 4th wife, "I loved you the most, endowed you with the finest clothing and showered great care over you. Now that I'm dying, will you follow me and keep me company?"

"No way! replied the 4th wife, and she walked away without another  word. Her answer cut like a sharp knife right into his heart.

The sad King then asked the 3rd wife, "I loved you all my life. Now that I'm dying; will you follow me and keep me company?"

No! replied the 3rd wife. "Life is too good! When you die, I'm going to remarry!" His heart sank and turned cold.

He then asked the 2nd wife, "I have always turned to you for help and you've always been there for me. When I die, will you follow me and keep me company?"

"I'm sorry, I can't help you out this time! replied the 2nd wife.  "At the very most, I can only walk with you to your grave." Her answer truck him like a bolt of lightning, and the King was devastated.
  Then a voice called out: "I'll go with you. I'll follow you no matter where you go." The King looked up, and there was his first wife. She was very skinny as she suffered from malnutrition and neglect. Greatly grieved, the King
said, "I should have taken much better care of you when I had the chance!"

In truth, we all have the 4 wives in our lives:
Our 4th wife is our body. No matter how much time and effort we lavish in making it look good, it will leave us when we die.

Our 3rd wife is our possessions, status and wealth. When we die, it will all go to others?
Our 2nd wife is our family and friends. No matter how much they have been there for us, the furthest they can stay by us is up to the grave.

And our 1st wife is our Soul. Often neglected in pursuit of wealth, power and pleasures of the world. However, our Soul is the only thing that will follow us where ever we go.

Cultivate, strengthen and cherish it now, for it is the only part of us  that will follow us to the throne of God and continue with us  throughout eternity.
