Navadha Bhakti

Radhe Radhe

Jai Gurunath

HARE RAMA HARE RAMA RAMA RAMA HARE HARE
HARE KRISHNA HARE KRISHNA KRISHNA KRISHNA HARE HARE

It was a week of Shabari Katha

In the weekdays, attended 4 days of Shabri / Navadha Bhakti (from Ram Charit Manas) Katha at Lyn Parade.
Shabari Katha is always amazing to hear. The speaker was DR (Pandit) K D Sharma from Melbourne...who has a amazing, knowledge of ramayana

Saturday was a Satsangh at Srimati Sarita Ram and Shri Sanjeev Bali's house. The topic we chose, coincidentally (not), was again Shabari Katha and Navadha Bhakti...

Katha was followed by Maha Mantra and bhajans by the children....

Sunday afternoon was a memorable day, as we had a really amazing, totally transcedental session of NSK (Nama Sankirtan) at Shri Muthuji's house. The atmosphere was amazing.
More than an hour of chanting, followed by Bhajans and a short talk and prasadam.

read more abt the satsangh at Muthu's with Pictures

Sunday Night and the following 2 nights saw us reciting Gita at the place of a grieving family which had lost their young daughter that week.
The three nights was really spent on having as much NSK as possible for the departed SOUL. Very very Happy that G had given us the opportunity to do NAMA for the departed soul.
As always MaheshJi and the Girls were a key part of it - also accompanied by Shri Jagdish RamJi -

There is a question lurking on my mind.
What happens to a person who has taken up devotional life and does slip. As we know, Maya Devi focusses greater energy trying to bring down those in path of the LORD. The tests are greater.
Can a devotee succumb to the enemies of within....Kama Krodha Lobha and the Like...?

And what happens if they do?

G's Jayanti

Radhe Radhe

It was great pleasure to have taken part in G's Jayanti Celebration. (my first one).
Felt really blessed to be in the shelter of G.

http://www.namadwaar.org/ozgod/newsevents/news/?action=news&id=1225683693

Little Namadeva (son of Shri Raviji)gave the most touching speech in which he narrated the importance of following the Guru's word without questioning - He narrated it through a story about Sandhanana, the disciple of Sri Adi Shankara. One day Sri Adi Shankara asked Sanandhana to cross the river. Sanandhana didn't question his Guru, but simply obeyed his Guru and started walking. As soon as he did that, lotus flowers appeared whereever his feet stepped and he in this manner crossed to the other bank. Namadev concluded his speech by saying 'obey Guru's words without questioning'
-

Really blessed are those who follow the words of the GURU with complete faith and devotion.

Not sure if Adiyen will ever truly follow that path. To be fully surrendered to the Master.

Is Guru-bhakti Saadhya (objective) or Saadhan (means)?
My small intelligence is now understanding that Guru-bhakti is Saadhya. Please correct me if i am incorrect.

Should I ask Guru for devotion to Krishna or
Should I pray to Krishna for devotion to Guru...?

which is the point that Muthuji made about Ekanathji Maharaj. Very very nice story. In serving the GURU, Maha-Bhagavat Shri Ekanath JI, had no desire for the LORD. Single-pointed Guru Bhakti, nicely illustrated by Sri Muthu Ji.

Which reminds me of the story of these 2 marvellous Mataji's I met last week. Part of Iskcon FIJI, they had come to Australia to preach HariNama and to generate interest in the BIG temple they were building.

These Mataji's from Fiji were given a task by their Gurudev to build a temple in a town called Sigatoka in Fiji. This was their Guruji's last instruction to them before HE attained param-samadhi. The Mataji's after a few years of preaching HariNaam and serving Shri Radha-Damodar in a Garage, decided that it was HIGH time the dreams and instructions of their Gurudev was realised. So they started the temple project which is estimated to cost close to $3million for the complete construction. In order to show people they were serious,...they started the project off with the construction of the first two floors with their own effort and money.

So these Mataji's started to travel outside their city and preach and generate Laxmi for the temple and also spread Mahamantra. In their venture they came to Australia, where they hardly knew anyone and did programs in 3 major cities in one week and generated a lot of interest and with Krishna's and Guru's Grace raised a lot of money...more than $60,000.

What really touched me is the passion, the fervour, the dedication with which they went about their work in order to fulfill the instructions of the Spiritual Master. Showed me that without coming out of ones comfort zone, it is hard to get results.

Guru's Grace is endless and boundless like the OCEAN. Truly depends on the sadhak and discipile as to how GRACED they want to be.

Jaynesh, Kaushik and Amish (nehpews) all sang kirtans and bhajans...it was really nice to see them taking part

Wow...its been a while

Radhe Radhe

It has been a while...almost 3 weeks have past...havent blogged recently.

The first week of October (a long weekend in Australia) saw us have 2 house warming satsanghs and one birthday satsangh. The first one on Friday was a Sunderkand session at Beecroft (was the sister of a mataji who hosted a program in Adelaide) - she was most touched to have Nama sankirtana and Sunderkand Parayana for her House warming.

Next day we were at the house of Smt Vandana and Shri Asis Kumar for their house-warming satsangh. It was celebrated with a Recital from Shri Ram Charit Manas -
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j_lx2MAvbcY

Next day we had a satsangh at the house of Shri AnandJi...who requested the Katha of Kevata (the Boatman) who was most most fortunate be receive the grace of the LORD.

..

The following week we were at the house of Smt and Sri Sailesh Kumar at Prestons. For the first time, had to speak on the topic of Vali Vadham...notably a topic of much discussion, controversy and sentiment for many generations. ...as to why Shri Ram killed Vali in such a way

http://www.namadwaar.org/answers/valianswer.html

Reading from Swami Shri Ram Kinkarji Maharaj's books, he states that

Vali, when laying on the ground after being hit by the arrow, says
"dharam hetu avatarahu gosai"
"maarahi mohi vyadh ki naai"

"You have taken avataar for the protection of Dharma, why then have you killed my like a hunter"

Swami Ramkinkar ji states: Bali acknowledges that Shri Ram was the supreme LORD himself not an ordinary man. And he also states that he has desccended for the protection of Dharma.

Hence what Shri Ram did was danda nyaya as opposed to yuddha. When fighting someone, it is wrong to kill someone in an improper way. It is not the same for a upholder and provider of justice and punishment. When a judge condemns someone to death, he does not pick up a sword to kill him himself...that is danda nyaaya as opposed to yudha maryaadaa. Shri Ram is not expected to uphold yuddha maryada here as while killing Vali, he is handing out punishment.

And looking at our lives, we are also punished for our prarabdhas. The supreme lord does not appear before us to hand that punishment. Rather it is handled "unseen" by our eyes. Also, the LORD who is also responsible for the creation, maintenance and dissolution (annihilation) of the creation....How does he go about doing that? Unseen, isnt it. So can one claim that bhagavan has not followed maryada to do pralaya in the manner in which he does. No.

Secondly...The LORD is a warrior...and Vali is an animal or rather his act was befitting an animal...And warriors do not challenge animals to a fair fight. Tbey are hunted.

In the end...what agrees most with my heart is...that the most compassionate LORD is called bhakta-vatsala. For his devotees, HE is even willing to forego his reputation and can welcomes with open hands any infamy that may come HIS way (viz BHISHMA's sankalpa in Mahabharat). He is "kartum akartum anyatha kartum samarthaH" ...there is nothing beyond HIM. And also as Tulasidas Ji says. " samartha ko nahi dosha gosai" - no act can tarnish ALL powerful "

Last Weekend in September 2008

Radhe Radhe

What a week.

G graced us again with a weekend of Satsanghs and Nama propogation.
Friday night we went to our monthly program at Shri Temple in Auburn. There we had a very good session of Nama sankirtan. A good Half hour..followed by Glories of Nama sankirtan by our senior brother Mutthu, qouting from various shastras, the mahima of Nama. The night concluded with Maha Mantra again.

Saturday was an eventful day. Spent most of the day packing books for Yaadein Vision for our annual shipment to Fiji... - www.yaadeinvision.org
Our shipment goes out on Tuesday.

Surprises, unpredictability, uncertainty are to be expected in life. Only predicatable aspect of life is its unpredictability. Came home Saturday afternoon to discover Mum had accidentally driven a knife through her hand, in between the thumb and first finger. A freakish Kitchen Accident. Even though the incident was in the scheme of things a minor event, it still highlights and hint how a moment in life is enough to take away our comfort. If our comfort is controlled by such events then comfort is something that will be short -lived and always disturbed.

Saturday night was a sastsangh at brother Dinesh's house. It was a smaller than expected turnout, ( about 50 0r so) however it was still a nice as GOD had a chance to propogate NAMA to a newish crowd. The night consisted of Nama Sankirtan by Kids to start off with, followed by a narration of Bhakta Dhruv's Katha from SB and finally concluding with NSK for 20 mins followed by Arati. On the way back while driving I suffered from various microsleeps...however seemed to awake at the right times...(felt that someone else was actually in control of taking me home safely) - rakhe ram to mare kaun ...

Sunday again was a busy day....We had 1/2 hour NSK at Ram Mandir Minto. In the afternoon, was requested by sister Arati to give a short discourse on bhagvatam on Samudra Manthan. It was a nice night...with Kirtan, Bhagvatam and a very inspiring talk by Bobby bhai on Various topics including amrit and surrendering to the lord and "LOVE" - as to how anything we see as beautiful in this world will sooner or later diminish in its beauty. The only one who is truly beautiful in essence is the LORD. We concluded with NSK and Mahaprasad.

About to hit the bed now. Hopefullly the weekdays can also be utilised for guru Kainkaryam like the weekends.

GOD (Global Organisation for Divinity) goes to Adelaide

Radhe Radhe
Jai Gurunath

Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare

Friday 12th September - Sunday 14th September was a really special weekend, where Nama took us (Jayanthi Mataji and Uncle Venkat and Kajal Mataji and Myself) to Adelaide.
As advised by Jayanthi Mataji after our return to Sydney from the trip...there were many opposite and negative forces at work before we went to Adelaide...and ONLY and Sheerly through Gurudev's Grace that the Trip ended up being a memorable one for all concerned.

Being with Jayanthi Mataji and Ramanan Uncle for Kajal Mataji and myself was an amazing experience. I see them as the embodiments of "Nama Nistha" - They walk Nama, they talk Nama, they eat Nama, they sleep Nama, ...what more can i say..they LIVE Nama.

Please read the following report by Jayanthi Mataji on the Adelaide Trip.
http://www.namadwaar.org/ozgod/newsevents/news/?action=slideshow&id=1221444800

Overall, it was a great experience.....as I mentioned to Jayanthi Mataji and upon reminiscing on the trip (while there and upon coming back )..I realised that

Before leaving for Adelaide I was under a severe misconception that i was going there to give something to others...But now as i sit comtempating on the tour I know that wasn't the case. Instead of giving I believe G sent me there to "take" and "Gain" and "recieve". and GAIN i did.
I gained love from lots of friends who I never knew
I gained knowledge and learned lessons from various people - not through their words..but their action and lives
I gained inspiration for serve G more
I gained thirst to do more in Nama Propogation
I gained spiritual Richness
I gained the blessings and well wishes of many
and most importantly I gained the Nama Wealth.

Jayanthi Mataji appropriately advised of a nice story....
She said: "I remember an incident from Sri MahaPeriyava which HE narrated HIMSELF. Periyava said, everyone calls me Jagadguru, and I didn't understand why people called me so, HE narrated an incident and says " HE is being called as Jagadguru because, the Jagath teaches HIM and HE is learning new things daily"

The people we met were all amazing...I was most fortunate to have the chance to meet them and they all were extremely receptive to Nama.

Hereby hoping to continue to build on the initial foundation of our relationship with those we met...and praying to Shri Gurunath that one day this foundation will turn into a NAMA HATTA (Nama Dwaar) in Adelaide...

Smt Bamaji and Sri RajaGaneshan ji were amazing hosts...Really indebted to them....Not enough words to thank them....Praying that Gurunath shower HIS blessings on them and their Lovely family.

Finally I would like to say...I met a special friend , a brother, who in less than 2 days.. really touched my heart with his warmth, love and humility...Talking abt Shri Gautam Bala Ji....Most wonderful gentlemen and a very very nice bhakta who is doing a great service work for the youth and the Kids in Adelaide with his Bhagvatam, Gita and Vedanta classes....amongst a myriad of other activities he organised and runs for the upliftment of the kids and youth in Adelaide.

In the end...a remarkable experience for me...Thanking the GOD team of Australia and Gurunath for giving me the opportunity to be involved in propogation of Nama.

The First Darshan

Radhe Radhe

"Tiny legs, Tiny hands, relatively larger head compared to the rest of the body, little eyes, nose and mouth, heart pumping, curled up in a fetal postion" - Fetal position ???- What am i talkin about. It WAS the foetus of the little one...in the mum's womb. - Yes...I had my first Darshan of the little one today...Today was the first Ultrasound for Kajal.

Amazing. "Ajab teri kaarigari kartaar"

Totally Amazing it was. What a remarkable Creator is our great LORD.

Doctor asked us: "Would you like to know if it is a boy or a Girl"
Smiling back at my wife, who knows I am not good at being held in suspense...she said Yes...we would like know. Then the doctor located the little piece of anatomy and Boldly declared that it was a "BOY"...just like G said, - He is the prasad of Shri Anjaneya...

It was a special special moment....to cherish....

Can't believe its only a matter of months till the little one is out.....Can't wait to relay the news to G. He's all yours G.

3 Day Bhagwat Katha at Praneel/Dylans house in Prestons

Radhe Radhe

Jai GuruNath

After the Ashtami, we had a three day talk on Shrimad Bhagwatam at Bhakta Praneels house (better known as Dylan's Dad :) funnily enough) .

On the first night we had a nice crowd of about 60-70. We covered the katha of Shri Dhruva Maharaja. His Katha being filled with inspiration for Kids and Adults alike. The main points being

"karyam sadhayami va deham patayami" - as the slogan goes. DO OR DIE. Dhruva Maharaja's INTENT to Fulfill his GOAL (even though Arthartic initially) was inspiring
We (all Jivas) as Uttanpaad and we have two rani's namesly Suruchi (Doing what pleases the Mind - sense gratification) and Suniti (path of righteousness and Truth) . The Jiva becomes the follower of Suruchi rather than Suniti. Suruchi has a son called Uttam and Suniti has a so called Dhruv. When one follows Suruchi, they will get Uttam phala (fruit) - Uttam = Ut (highest) tam (ignorance) meaning - AGYAN kI parakaashtha. However when one follows Suniti - one attains Dhruv - Bhajananand personified..that which is permanent and unshaking
If a mother wants..she can turn her child into a saint, a philisopher/Gyani, or if a mother wants she can turn her child in a thug or a criminal.
On the second day, we had a much migger group of devotees attending, around 100 or so. We were also graced with the presence of Sri Venkat jI and Shri Jayanti Mataji as well as Shri Vijayji and family.
The topic for the day was Maha Bhagvat Shri JadBharat (seems like an oxymoron to say Maha bhagwat and Jad at the same time) . Anyway we learnt the important role played by the mind.
Mana eva manushyanam karanam bandha mokshayoho
"As the mind, so the man; bondage or liberation are in your own mind"
And how the penultimate moment of our lives decide our next state, Hence ante Narayana Smriti.
Secondly, Jad bharat when seeing the helpless baby Mriga, saw himself as the caretaker and believed that without him there was noone to look after this poor baby Deer. Shridhar Swamigals experience comes to mind when he believed if he left home, who would look after HIS Son, then suddenly and egg fell from the nest from above him and from it popped out a little baby bird. And Swamigal realised that the one who will look after this jiva will also look after my son..

On the third day of Bhagwat Katha, we discussed Sudama charitra – brahmano brahma-vittamaa. Very nice..touching Katha of Krishna Sakha. And his resolve to never ask anyone for anything. And how the LORD actually worshipped him upon Arriving in Dvarika.
kim anena kritam punyam
avadhûtena bhikshunâ
s'riyâ hînena loke 'smin
garhitenâdhamena ca
What pious acts has this unkempt, impoverished brāhmaṇa performed? People regard him as lowly and contemptible, yet the spiritual master of the three worlds, the abode of Goddess Śrī, is serving him reverently. Leaving the goddess of fortune sitting on her bed, the Lord has embraced this brāhmaṇa as if he were an older brother.
And so the 3 days of Bhagwat Katha concluded.

Overall it was a very nice as there was great feedback from all. Most importantly the 3 days of Bhagwatam were decorated beautifully with amazing Nama Kirtana from Everyone present. Everyone also took maha mantra CD’s of Guruji and Stickers as well. There were also people taking Malas as well.

Photos: http://picasaweb.google.com.au/deepak.vinod/3DayBhagwatKathaAtPraneelDylansHouseInPrestons#

The funds that was collected actually went to a good cause as well. To a family whos house had recently burnt down in Fiji.

Thankful to G for making it all happen smoothly..

Post Ashtami Wrap Up

Radhe Radhe Jai GuruNath
Apologies...Have been very slack myself. Have not updated Blog for a long long time. Lots to report though
Since the Last 8 day ashtami Bhagwat session at Yennora got cancelled, had the opportunity to going to various places/houses to speak on Bhagwatam. In a way it was ideal, as it was a chance to speak to a different crowd everyday, hence speaking to various audience on Bhagwat Katha and Nama Sankirtanam.
Distributed G's CD's and stickers every day. The highlight for me however was attending the sessions at Navin bhai's place in Earlwood. A very nice group of devotees and very inquisitive as well. Everyone from young to old took part in singing MahaMantra. A special focus was given to chanting Mahamantra. Had some spare Chanting Malas - 40 to 50 of them..,.so took them around to NAvin's place. It was all gone. Basically everyone that came took the Malas and actually it ran out ....so had to take some more on the following days...At the end of 2 sessions of Katha, the whole crows actually participated in chanting Mahamantra on beads 108 times. And people who took the Mala also promised to chant eevryday. It was simply MAGIC to see G's grace in Action. The 50-60 lips and tongues everyday...being busy in the actual and the main business of life. Is there anything more satisfying then chanting and watching others chant. Felt the presence of G every moment.
Took a break from the Katha one day to go to Adelaide (part of South Australia) . There, Dylan and Myself and Kajal led the singing of Sunderkand. (photo) . It was an amazing experience. There were reports from the crowd that while the Sunderkand was happening, some decorative kalashas -pots which were part of the temple decoration, actually "lifted up" and fell. Shri Anjaneya makes in presence known in various ways i guess. The whole session was beautiful. Especially Dylan as the little master displayed his artistry on the Dholak and really lifted the vibe of the place. Uncle Mudliar actually was so happy that at the end of the sesssion, he picked Dylan up and kissed him and blessed him....
Next day after a Yagya at the same temple in Adelaide, we returned back to Sydney and continued with the Krishna Ashtami celebrations on Saturday and Sunday.
ON the last day I had a call from Brother Aniruddha that the folks at Earlwoord wanted more Malas as there were new people attending and they desired to chant Maha Mantra with the mala as well. So we decided to go there again. All the time, I was sort of being a miser that i did not want to finish all the Malas. Somehow decided to take all of them on the last day. It was al gone as well that night. So i had no Malas with me. Not even one for future distributions. The very next day I had a call at work from my good wife that a box of Malas had just arrived from Brindaban. I was totally surprised. Nothing but G's Grace. Came home that evening to see more than 150 Malas and Bead bags and Mala Counters.

Started preparing for the 3 day Bhagwat Katha at Dylan's House. Another opportunity presented by G and Krishna to spread the glories of the LORD via this totally totally unworthy and insignificant kali-grasta jiva. I wish one day I can actually understand the subject matter of Srimad Bhagvatam...Actually claiming that I am speaking on Bhagvatam is nothing but humourous and pityful.

GOD Krishna Ashtami Celebration

Radhe Radhe

It was a great weekend again.
Global Organisation for Divinity Australia had their Krishna Ashtami Celebration at Dundas.
Huuuugeeee Turnout. It was a great display of talent, especially youngsters....It was amazing..

Sunday...had an unxpected cancellation of Bhagwatam Katha which was supposed to run for 8 days....as the Host's mother was in emergency in Hospital....Krishna's Wish.

Was invited to speak on the Mahatmya of Bhagwatam in Earlwood for the first day of Bhagvat Katha. Spoke on How ShriNaarad Ji went about restoring Bhakti and rejuvenating Gyana and Vairagya, after listening to Shrimad Bhagvat Gyan Yagya as a Saptaah.

Distributed G''s Mahamantra Cd and stickers to the 30 or so people there...

Had a Gita Recital and discourse yesterday at the post funeral rites of SMT KUNTI DEVI. Recited Chapter 6 of BG. And spoke on some shlokas. With Hari Naam Ofcourse. Jayanthi Mataji and Ramanan uncle came from far away and graced us on this occasion.

We distributed CD's and Stickers...

The KIDS gave some positive feedback ...saying they did understand the topic well...It was nice to touch the youngsters.... I find that nowadays the youngsters are very positive and coming-forward and very receptive to the messages of Bhagvat Dharma.

Have a workmate whos brother recently won the one and only most sought-after, prestigious ARTS scholarship. Out of many thousands of people he won the one and only scholarship.
And his background was, he was 6months away from finishing his double degree and had this burning desire to chase his dream in arts..and he left everything, dished his studies, and worked hard day and night...accepting the fact that he will not have a steady income for a while, minimised his socialising...and in the end the results are there...

Recently won a Arts competition, followed by securing the scholarship and now a deal in UK...
His brother tells me how he only sleeps like 3 -5 hours a nite and has RSI but still continues to passionately chase his dreams...

One of his works

Made me feel really small when i look at myself...IF only i had that dedication to chase my dreams to serve G with all my energy and more for the propogation of Nama.

Praying to G to give me that dedication in life, that passion in life to love what i do and to give it my all.

Radhe Radhe

Haven't been blogging lately. Recapping the week that has been.

Monday and Tuesday, went down to Liverpool Hospital for prayer for Babu Ram's Mum who at the age of 80 something was living her last days (as per the doctors advice). She did pass away on Thursday. GOD will be doing Nama Sankirtan and Bhagvata Gita recital and discourse there next week.

Friday and Sat : Had 2 days of ram Katha at bhakta Vimals house in Quakers Hill. Tonight is the 3rd and last day. Its been a nice 2 days. Distributed the GOD Cd's yesterday. Spoke abt the meeting of Shri Ram and Hanuman at Pampapur.

According to Goswami Tulasidasji, Sugriva represents the JIva Tattva and Bali Karma personified. When Karma is favourable towards Jiva...the jiva is enjoying and is spoilt. However when the Karma turns unfavourable, it chases the jiva everywhere...whereever it goes. however there is one place that one's Karma cannot follow the Jiva and that is Rishmuka Parvat..(satsangh Personified).

With the Help of Anjaneya, Sant/Sadguru personified, the Jiva is united with the LORD. It is the Mahaan who puts forward the case of the Jiva to the LORD and beggs the lord to accept the Jiva (sugriva). And the LORD Obliges.

Sugriva, despite being a coward, opportunist, lusty, enagaged in sense gratification and the like had two great qualities which were crucial for his union with the lord.

1. He knew his follies and weaknesses. And was ever ready to accept them.
2. He never left the association of a Sant in the form of Anjaneya.

...tonight, we shall be discussing the pasttime of an amazing devotee who is able to dictate terms to the LORD....Kevata. And from the whole of RamcharitManas he was the only one to get the LORD to fully openly laugh in the manner that HE did.

All Glories to Shri Guru

Radhe Radhe

A toughday at work. Things got hostile...I managed to keep my calm. The oppressor came and apologised himself followed by the company director...who was pleased with the way I handled the situation.

It is true that one left no choice but to regret when acting in haste. Despite the oppression, I didnt feel alone. Felt secure at all times... Dont get me wrong...I did not submit...did say what was needed when it was...but did not get pulled in a verbal slang.

Thinking...How a devotee would handle such situations..Where is the fine line between tolerance/forebearance and unnecessary submission. I guess the philosophy of trinasapi sunicena is a fool proof stand.

Had harmonium classes today. 2 new students. they were pretty good..fast learners. taught them to sing Maha mantra in the first lesson. Both of them learnt it.

Jagdish Bhai came over after his trip to India... was telling stories of his trip. India is a great land.

**Question...if someone would please give me an opinion on this. Is it wrong to spend too much time in swadhyaaya...preparation for satsangh etc at the cost of time for the family, like for my wife. She hasnt complained and nor do i get the vibe that she is upset abt that. Just wondering ...

I am sure it is all abt time management. If one manages time properly, they can get plenty of time for their svadhyaaya and research and famly as well. Ideally this should go together. As Guruji says..the spiritual journey should be a pleasant one. Guruji is so much like a mother and so compassionate and understanding that he doesnt want anyone to be inconvenienced in the bhakti Marg.

Jai ho.. Maybe one day I can realise the art of living a true spiritual life which encompasses a perdfectly happy household life.

TUESDAY 22nd July 2008

Radhe Radhe

Went with Jayanti Mataji and Ramanan uncle to a family friends house who are going through a lot of difficulties and testing times. Did Prarthana with Maha Mantra there ...Jayanti Mataji quoted a few verses from the Kirtanam Paldire ( hope that is correct).....Very nice...

Mataji encouraged the hosts to please chant. Encouraged them and told them the power of Maha Mantra which has the power to bestow all needs and fulfill all desires...

Then we came home and Mataji and Uncle did a prayer in our temple Room as well...It was so nice....

Just lament my position today..knowing that I am in a shelter of a kalpa vriksha and yet still going around placing expectations and desires with others...

When will I that realisation come that, what is it that Nama cannot give.

All Glories to the Kalpa taru Hari Nama

Guru Purnima Celebration in Sydney

Radhe Radhe

Current Time: 10:20 am. Just came back from Radio Interview on Radio Navtarang. Spoke for about 15 minutes on Sunderkand, as it was the topic of the month on the radio.

One of the questions he asked was..what is the significance of a musical rendition/parayana of Sunderkand (in reference to the RAM CHARIT MANAS, by Goswami Tulasidas) - iterated G's discourse on SANKIRTANA and the importance of GAAN. ...i.e. Sama gana priya, etc etc.

Have Harmonium classes soon. The kids are doing really well learning the harmonium and also singing Maha mantra. I see it as another way of getting kids chanting Maha mantra.

After that..will be preparing for Guru Purnima

9:55 pm..

Just came back from GP and after dropping all the kids home. It was a nice night in celebration of GURU PURNIMA. It was also my first session where I witnessed how prayers were conducted for individuals with Maha Mantra. Very devine session held by Shri Jayanthi Mataji. The energy was very strong. Amazing to say the least.

Followed BY GP program ...i.e Speech by Shri Mutthu Ji, myself and Shri Ramanan Ji, with Bhajans, Shlokas, and the like.

The kids enjoyed it...
One thing that really touched me was when i heard that Guruji has predicted that by 2032 (I hope that is correct) the Maha mantra will be chanted everywhere globally.

Oh yeah...forgot...Guru Kripa...we also escaped narrowly from a big accident...truly a firstd experience of its kind in my life. Amazing since we just came back from the GP program to hear Shri Ramanans story of HIS close encounter while in India which was also nothing but an exhibition of Guru Kripa....Guru Kripa hi kevalam.

I recollect now what G once said...He said that HE is with me all the time.

Sadguru Nath ki Jay

Had a wonderful day of satsangh today.

In the morning, went to a guru Purnima celebration (Sanskriti Diwas) by Hindu Heritage Sabha, where a total of 1011 Hanuman Chalisa was taking place. Was asked to lead the chanting...with a few other singers....It was really nice to sing collectively. Photos to be posted soon..

In the evening, visited a GP celebration organised by AYAPPA SWAMI devotees. The purohita gave a beautuful short speech before the Namadwaar Sydney team started singing. It was in Tamil...but i felt like i was understanding..and Later translated to me by Jayanthi Mataji. He said Ayappa swamiji is Shri HARI HAR SUTA ..and LORD Hari is the mother. So the child is attracted to the mother as the LORD SHRI HARI IS COMPASSIONATE like a mother. And The he said the NAMA Dwaar team was about to do NAMA SANKIRTANAM which is most attractive to LORD HARI, hence to win the favour of the mother is to sing Hari NAMA. He also said that the Bhajans we have (there were other bhajans performed by devotees prior to us) sung so far are kritis by mankind..however what we are about to hear is no human kritthi..MAHA MANTRA is something which our granthas, RISHIS have forever glorified and most importantly is most appealing to the LORD.....

So we performed abt 30 mins of cont MAHA MANTRA KIRTANAM. Adiyen was talking to the eldest son of the Mataji who passed away. Told him of the power of Mahamantra and the power of prayer. Requested his Mothers DOB information so the Namadwaar team could perform prayers for her liberation. So was so happy to hear that. Also gave laxmi for the service of Brahmanas and sadhus in Vrindaban in the name of Mother.

The LORD is very merciful...as always.

Saturday 12th July

Radhe Radhe...

Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare
Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare

Wow...Haven't updated the blog for a few days...Have been sick...Took 3 days off work...
That should not be an excuse though. It's surrendering to the minds weak excuses. Signs of weakness..very bad Deepak

..Ok sorry...Wont Happen again...There must be an update on at least every second day...

Had a nice satsangh today...It was Vijay Prabhuji's dad's 1 year Shraadh Ceremony eve. More than 60 people turned up. We recited the 9th Chapter of bhagwat Gita and discussed the following verse

api cet suduracharo, bhajate mam ananya bhak,
sadhur eva sa mantavyah, samyag vyavasito hi sa

"Even if one commits the most abominable actions, if he is engaged in devotional service, he is to be considered saintly, because he is properly situated.

How remarkebly unopposedly compassionate is the LORD. We can just get a slight glimpse based on this verse. Is there anyone so compassionate...The mind remembers...and as i was reading Ji's as it strikes me and coincidentally the same subject which adiyen spoke abt on Friday ....SriJi's Grace...The grace of Janak-nandini Kishori Pirrati Shri SitaJi...really makes the grace of the LORD very Minute Remember..Jayant....the demonesses in Ashoka Vatika..how Mata Sita Spared their lives from Anjaneya...Yes there is one more compassionate than the LORD...and she is Mother..Siyaju....and yet I believe there is one even more merciful...And lordship please forgive me for this...The Guru..who introduces the jiva to the LORD..who blesses the jiva with Mantropdesha.

The Satsangh today however comprised of Reciting Chapter 9 of Bhagwad Gita...discussion on the above verse...Nama Mahima...And always nice to heaer MutthuJi speak...on Nama Mahima as well...and about 30 minutes of Maha Mantra. Lord's so so so merciful/...

It was a different crowd that we had this time...Lots of Non-Sanatan followers...Like Arya Samaj...christian and a few muslims. It was comforting...despite a few not singing..at least the nama entered their ears.....The seed shall bear its fruit in due course...Jay Gurudeva.

....Yesterday...Friday...as mentioned...went to a Ramayan Satsangh...speaking on the topic of Jayant who bit Mata Sita in the foot and the lord Ram releasing an arrow made out of a twig and finally due to the Updesha of a Guru in the form of Srila Naarad..Jayant took shelter of the LORD ad the LORD spared his life...after request from shri Kishoriji.

Time to retire....2 days in a row i had darshan of Shri Ji in the dream....
Shri Ji...Please give me humility that I always remember that my purpose in life is to serve you...Guru kripa hi kevalam.

Oh yeah....Forgot...Had a guest from Canberra at todays satsangh...He would love to invite us to do sankirtan at his house....Jay Gurudev/...
Haven't spoken to Brother Ramu for a while...Hope he does remember me sometimes..

Realising that in life, how important it is to have devotees around you. Actually it is the devotees who are ones true family. It is comforting to be around devotees.

Yesterday was a final day of a 3 day Shiva Katha which we attended. We were asked to perform Kirtan. Distributed some CD's.

Need to start finding different ways to propogate names now...

Someone once said...

If you keep on doing what you are doing...you will keep on getting what you hae been getting.

Had a prerna today..or rather was daydreaming...how wonderful would it be to setup namadwaar in FIJI.....Going house to house...begging everyone to chant the holy name...

wow...one day...with Guru and Krishna Kripa...it WILL happen.

No post yesterday...
Wow...What a weekend. Full of programs, events, meeting devotees,
Sankirtan Sankirtan and more Sankirtan.

Saturday most of the day we took part in Shri Jagannath Rath Yatra. Most wonderful event. LORD Jagannath is really merciful.

http://picasaweb.google.com/deepak.vinod/JagannathYatra

Saturday night was Namadwaar night. How can we have a weekend without NamaDwaar. It would not feel normal. This time we had the fortune to HOST it at home. Really the NAMADWAAR Family is so loving. Everyone is so caring and loving. Why wouldn't they be. After all they are the children of the embodiment of Love...Shri JI.

Nice Sankirtans
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5irl3wm-lLs
and topped off by a beautiful discourse by Shri Mutthu Ji. Story about the power and potency of Shri Rama Nama, which even defeats LORD RAMA.
RAMA NA SAKAHAI NAM
A GUNA GAAHI
Goswami Tulasidas states..even LORD RAMA cannot expound fully the power of RAMA NAMA.
Glories to the HOLY NAME which is the only vehicle to deliver the masses in the Kaliyuga. We also heard/watched a youtube presentation of Shri Ramu Ji....on faith and Nama.

Links to Photos of the event
http://www.namadwaar.org/ozgod/newsevents/news/?action=slideshow&id=1215284086

:) ... So appropriately described by Shri Ramuji...that we come from an organisation for Professional beggars. An institute that has professional beggars...Not begging for money..but begging the masses to chant the Nama.

After that everyone had dinner and slowly took leave.

-------

Spoke on radio today 100.9fm for 10 mins. The topic was

Jal se patla kaun hai?Kaun bhoomi se bhaari?Kaun agan se tej hai?Kaun kaajal se kaari?Jal se patla gyaan hai,Paap bhoomi se bhaari.Krodh agan se tej hai,Kalank kaajal se kaari.

Went to the Satsangh today where the topic was Shiva Vivah. Performed some Bhajans. KajalJi, Preeti, Rosie and MG (Jija) graced the occasion. We did some Mahamantra sankirtan in the end.

So many things pending to do...Need to start actioning them. Work Tomorrow.
Shri Gurucharanarpanamastu

Oh LORD! Whatever devotional action performed by me, please take that to be an offering to Shri Guru. Please give us the strength and the humility to allow us to make every action of ours devine so that it can be offered to the LOTUS feet of Shri Guru, for HIS pleasure....That is ALL I ever want.

Friday 4th July

American Independence Day.
Dad's Birthday

Independence: In this world of ever-pacing and rapidly progressing technology who's objective seems to be to provide independence, the irony seems to be that instead of being freer and independent we seem to to me BOUND and DEPENDANT.

The need for councillors, pshychiatrist, meditation, Yoga (a merely marketing word now), Rehab centers, growth in orphanages, prisons, nursing homes, patients, diseases, family breakdowns are all increasing at rate never porportionate to the tech growth and so called Modern AGE living. People are now having no choice BUT to resort to religion, spirituality and their inner spirit, being trampled/strangeled by the technology that was supposed to free them.

Hence the age old saying of our shastras....bhoogaad rogaad bhayam.

Why is the Ramayan, Bhagwat, Gita which was spoken, written thousands and thousands of years back still appealing to us. Why do we feel that despite being recorded as ancient scripts, it is still relevant today in the rapid growth age.

The reason is that no matter how much we progress in the material world, the tool which is the epi-center of all emotions, feelings, bhaavs is the MIND and THAT IS SOMETHING WHICH IS THE SAME AS IT WAS IN TRETA YUGA, DWAAPAR YUGA AND PRESENT AND WILL BE THE SAME IN THE FUTURE. Irrespective of the objects of our senses changing, the senses, the mind the intellect still has the same age old tendencies.

The holy river GANGA is puratana (ancient) - historically old..but when we go and have a dip in the Ganges in HAridwar, do we feel that the GANGES is old. We understand is legacy however we cannot deny its current existence and power.

**** Had a monthly satsangh at Minto Ram Mandir. It is so encouraging to see devotees.
As i am writing I am listening to the song....Ishwar allah tero naam sab ko sanmati de bhagwan...

Beautiful meaning. Which reminds us the reason for LORD Rams Avatar....To create a Setu in the society...between the rich and the poor...the intelligent and the not-so, the High Caste and hte low caste, even animals and humans.

How can one forget the nature of LORD RAM. Being perfectly happy to sit under a tree while his beloved monkeys, play around on the tree above....dangling their tails down on the head and lotus face of the LORD.

That's what is GREAT about our beloved GURUJI. He repeatedly states, not only states but practices, binding people of different views, caste, school of thought (sampradaya) and in general HUMANS together in one sutra. Promoting LOVE amongst all living beings. SHRI GURUJI in hi actions IS A TRUE FOLLOWER OF THE PATH SET OUT BY OUR MARYADA PURUSHOTTAM LORD SHRI RAM.

Jai Gurudev.
Shri Rama Jaya Rama Jaya Jaya Ram.

Jagannath Rath Yatra tomorrow and Nama Dwaar satsangh at home tomorrow.

Oh lord ... i knowingly commit countless sins again and again. Such is my nature that EVEN hell will turn its nose on seeing me! So...patita-pawana prabhu...what will be of this soul, who walks around with a label of a devotee.

1st July 2008

1st day of a new Financial year. Everyone seems to be taking financial stock and audit of the previous year. Wish we did the same Spiritually. Take stock and audit our Spiritual life for the year just passed. The objective seems to be to pay as less tax as possible. We may be able to evade taxes financially. Alas! Is that possible Spiritually?

Tulasidas final verse in the Ramayan is

KAMAHI NARI PYARI JIMI LOBHAHI PRIYA JIMI DAAM
TIMI RAGHUNATH NIRANTARA PRIYA LAGE MOHE RAAM
Oh Merciful LORD! Just Like a lusty person always thinks of women and a greedy person's mind is always submerged in money (daam), similarly, I pray that I have the love for the LORD (kaami) and the greediness in chanting and taking your name thereby building nama wealth.
A day gone without much chanting. Just Worldly stuff. Read some of guruji's articles. And worked on the website. Still reading about Kevat (Nishaad).
Kevat's life proves that one does not need Sadhan in their life. Only await and rely on the Kripa of the LORD. In this world we think whatever is rare (durlabh) is precious, ...however with the LORD... He shows that if you believe that GOD is durlabh, he will meet you after incessant sadhana like Manu. However if you realise the LORD is sulabh (easily attained) then HE meets via Kripa Marga.
Shri Ram's Avtaar demonstrated that the Deena, heena, dejected and rejected have a place in the LORD's heart and they can easily attain HIM...Look at the monkey's who are the symbolism of Chanchalta (unsteadyness) and Geedh Jayatu, Nishaad, Shavari.
Srimad Bhagwatam states
Vyadhasya Acharanam Dhruvasya cha vayah
Vidya Gajendrasya Ka Ka Jathir Vidurasya
Yadava patheyr Ugrasya Kim Paurusham
Kubjayaha Kamaneeya ruupam adhikam Kim?
Kim that Sudhamnasyo Dhanam
Bhakthya Thushyati kevalam
What is the achara of Vyadha? What is the education of Gajendra? What is the Caste of Vidura? Was Ugra (Yadu King) manly? What is the charisma of Kubja? Was Sudhama Rich? Madhava gives salvation not on the basis of qualities (inherent or acquired) but only on the basis of faith)
Oh Lord! When will you look at this fallen soul and bestow on him your ahaituki Kripa for I know not any Sadhana, I have not any Bhakti?
Frequently I hear people having anubhavas with YOU and YOUR holy name my LORD. With firm belief I believe them...but am left with a hollow feeling in the heart...thinking WHEN I may experience a glimpse of your Divinity....Then I realise..why would I...I have no such qualities.
Then I ask, Can qualities be a pre-requisite for experiencing you...Surely Not!
Patit jano ko karo puneetaa, He Rama Sita He Rama Sita!!!
Time for Bed. You see...Excepting TAMAS (mode of Ignorance) is so easy and natural for me.
IF only..........IF only..... IF only........

Shri Ram Jay Ram Jay Jay Ram!!!!
Shri Sadgurunath kI jay!!!!

Another blessed day as we had a chance to get together another Hari Nama.

Went to Carramar Sita Ram Temple for the Annual Kirtan Sammelan. Had a good turnout. Were supposed to do kirtan for half an hour. The hosts were so pleased that they requested us to go for a further half an hour. It was good to see the youngsters singing and taking part.

Muthu ji gave a nice opening and a final roud up. Distributed Mahamantra CD's to the audience. Generally it was well recieved by everyone.

Spent most of the day with kids Dylan, Krishneel and Roneel.

It seems that the openings for Nama prachaar keeps on coming. This is Guru's grace definitely working. Got a few more requests for Nama Sankirtan and a request for a 3 day Bhagwat Katha.

Just remembered. Why does Krishna love the Flute so much? Even the gopis were at times envious of the Flute of Krishna. What is the sgnificance of the Flute that Krishna always has it on his lips?

Krishna’s Flute
O Lord, make me an instrument of Thy will!
We humans are the instruments of the Lord.
Human being is the flute.
The Lord fills the instrument with the breath of life, and makes the inanimate instrument (made from the five elements) come alive with huge range of possibilities.

Getting really unfit...Need to start training to be Fit.

A healthy body means a healthy devotional life I believe.
Mainting the body for the satisfaction of KRISHNA and making it useful in Krishna's Service is YAGYA Karma

tad-artham karma kaunteya

So need to start losing weight and eat less...That reminds me what shri Gurudev said to me once
"kam khaao gam ghaao" eat less and eat (disgest) your disappointments.
Got an invitation to do 3 day Ram Katha in Quakers Hill on August 1, 2, 3.
A good chance to propogate Gurudev's Message and spread Nama. Greatful to Shri Gurudev for Providing these opportunities

Thanks to Shri Ramuji, Most wonderful Jayanthi Mataji and respected brothers Mahesh and Dinesh in getting me started on blogging.

Met a Friend in the Train "Satish". Gave him a Mahamantra CD.
Reading the story of the Great Fearless Bhakta Kevat.

Kewat's bhakti was so amazing that he got Shri Ram to do what he wanted
Ganga maiya asked LORD RAMA. You are begging this saadhaaran kevat to help you cross me (ganga) when you yourself in the form of Vaaman measured the whole creation in 2 steps.
Shri Ram replied. It is easy for me to cross this great creation, however crossing the bhakti of this great devotee is impossilbe for me (is bhakt ke bhaav ko paar karne me mai asamartha hu)

Difference between bhakti and Gyan
GYAN - Whereby a soul is takes the qualities of Brahm or where the soul elevates to the level of Brahm
BHAKTI - Whereby Brahma comes down to the level of the soul. The jiva gets the brahma to do what he/she wants. Take the form that the devotee wants. Henc
